African Studies in Israel

 
 

The interuniversity B.A program in African studies is a study program based on a collaborative effort of four Israeli universities: Ben Gurion University, Tel Aviv University, The Open University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The program includes a wide variety of courses on Africa from historical, political, geographical, cultural and religious perspectives. Students gain a broad base of knowledge on Africa, and develop analytical and research skills for studying African cultures and societies.

The African Studies program is taught in Hebrew.

Courses and Lecturers:

Students participating in the program have the opportunity to study in any of the four participating institutions. Through this collaboration, students are exposed to a rich and varied program of study, and can benefit from the many resources each university has to offer.

The center of the program is at Ben-Gurion University.  Ben Gurion University also offers a minor in African Studies for their students only.
